Dr. Pierre Giroux, D.V.M.

Dr. Pierre Giroux, D.V.M.

Dr. Pierre Giroux was born and raised on a dairy farm in northern New Hampshire. He pursued his love of animals and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree at the University of New Hampshire in 1988 continuing at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Giroux has owned the Gray New Gloucester Animal Hospital since 1998. Over the years, he has developed a special interest in dermatology and general surgery.

In his free time, Dr. Giroux enjoys skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family and pets.

Dr. Carol Courtney, D.V.M.

Dr. Carol Courtney is a 1988 graduate of Rollins College where she earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science. After graduating and directing outdoor programs in western Massachusetts for five years, she returned to the University of Massachusetts in order to take the prerequisites needed for the veterinary school and graduated summa cum laude. She received her D.V.M. in 1998 from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Courtney has a strong interest in ultrasound, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, but loves all aspects of veterinary medicine.

Her hobbies include; painting, surfing with her son, horseback riding with her daughters, and spending time with her husband and pets (2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 2 frogs and a horse).

Dr. Kristen Matzkin, V.M.D.

Dr. Kristen Matzkin is a 1995 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, earning a Bachelors of Science in marine and freshwater biology. She then moved from New England to Philadelphia to attend the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1999. After enjoying 10 years of small animal practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware Dr. Matzkin was thrilled with the opportunity to relocate to Southern Maine, she joined Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital in the fall of 2009 and looks forward to continuing her career and raising her family here in Maine. Dr. Matzkin particularly enjoys internal medicine, preventative care, and dermatology.

Outside of work Dr. Matzkin enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, three crazy cats, and their newest addition Murray, a rescue dog. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, reading and a wide range of outdoor activities.

Dr. Kimberly Tippi, V.M.D.

Dr. Kimberly Tippie, V.M.D.

Dr. Kim Tippie is a 1994 graduate of Allegheny College and a 1998 graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.

Since graduating, she has focused on practicing small animal internal medicine and surgery. She has also developed an interest in ultrasound and recently completed an extensive diagnostic ultrasound course at the NAVC institute. Dr. Tippie joined the Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital staff in February 2005. She lives in the area with her husband and children and their cats.  Her hobbies include hiking, reading and spending time with her family.

Our clinic mascot, and a member of Dr. Giroux's family, Mollie spends her days here at the Gray-New Gloucester Animal Hospital happily greeting all of the clients and patients.
